TunnelBear: Secure VPN & Wifi App Reviews

Tunnelbear just works for me, whenever I find myself in a not-totally-trusted network environment and dont want to use the work VPN. Also, the bear animations are really cute. :–)

And the bears are lovely :)

The connection is very good. I use in China and I tried many vpn and this is the best. But for the developers you should fix the map animation because it is to slow.

The overall design and usability is quite good. However, besides the map, (auto)selecting server based on performance would be great. Also, please make a widget for quick changes!

Installed this this app for my trip to China, but it didnt work at all. Deleted.

Worked well for a while, until it completely messed my iPad up, couldnt connect to the Internet for weeks. Apparently it was messing with my ip? Even though I had it turned off, it would turn on by itself. The app would crash every now and then. Eventually deleted it and all my problems went away. Unfortunate that i wont be downloading this ever again.

Im usually very happy, but right now the app keeps crashing. Hoping for a fix soon.

Netflix now blocks TunnelBear. You can not access different regions. Support didnt seem to care, I paid a year subscription and it only worked with Netflix for a month, $35 down the toilet, and despite letting TunnelBear know how upset I we about the recent changes and feeling ripped off, they continued to send me copy pasted trouble shooting tips, all while admitting their app no longer worked with Netflix. Shitty money grabbers. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE if your not prepared to have things suddenly stop working.

Every once in awhile the service I connect to in another country (not Netflix) says Im not in that country and wont let me do anything. Most times, however, it works well. Definitely fast, also expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Im very happy with this App; its stable, works a treat, and I just love the idea of a cute little bear tunnelling around the world. Also, the service team seems to me to be young, dynamic and forward-looking. Thanks to all involved in the production, development, marketing and service. I can highly recommend this product.

Used the app for 2 days, worked well the first day, but Ive had to delete and re-install the app already, also, I suspect Tunnel Bears servers are doing a bit of content filtering on their end, just a suspicion.

Perfect if you have a parent who wants to watch the hockey game while they are overseas. (; very user-friendly and works great

Great little app, perfect for those pesky US websites that lock us Canadians out. :) Ive used it on my laptop as well, really happy with it.
